Our Mission

Summit Ridge Church exists to glorify God, to make much of Jesus Christ in all that we do. Each church has a unique way of expressing its purpose and living out its beliefs. We see our mission as encouraging all people to pursue a lifelong, joyous relationship with Jesus Christ. And we focus on three areas for growing and living our faith in Jesus: Gospel-shaped identity, Gospel-shaped community, and Gospel-shaped mission.

We are all about discipleship - trusting and following Jesus. We define a disciple as one who is following Jesus, being changed by Jesus and committed to the mission of Jesus. And there is no greater joy, no greater calling than being a Christ-follower! At Summit Ridge, we are committed to helping and encouraging you to taking the next step in your journey toward Jesus Christ and learn the joy of following Jesus.

7 Foundational Values that Guide us:

Continuous Worship:

Jesus lived His life in continuous worship as He exalted His Father in all He did. We are called to find our hope, identity, and purpose in Jesus. As Jesus always submitted to His Father’s agenda, so we are called to follow His example in a lifestyle of worship and obedience. [Colossians 1:10, 16]

Word Centered:

Jesus knew the Word, lived the Word, and used the Word. His attitude was careful submission to every part of God’s recorded Word. As Jesus was Word centered, so are His followers!

[Colossians 3:16]

Obedience to the Word:

Jesus obeyed and lived out God’s Word in every area of His life and ministry. He calls us to hold the same view of Scripture as He did. As Christ followers we joyously live out His Word in humble obedience. [James 1:22]

Expectant Prayer:

Jesus practiced the habit of dependent prayer. He engaged in conversation with His Father throughout the day and He set aside different times for concentrated prayer. Through expectant prayer, followers of Jesus converse with God, enjoy His presence, express their dependence, discern His agenda, and access His power. [Ephesians 6:18]

Holy Spirit Dependence:

Every aspect of Jesus’ life and ministry was saturated with and marked by His reliance upon the presence and power of God the Holy Spirit. Followers of Jesus have the Holy Spirit living in them. The Holy Spirit is our Helper who transforms Christ followers to think like Jesus and to walk as Jesus walked! [Galatians 5:25]

Loving Relationships:

As Jesus valued people, followers of Jesus recognize the priority of loving, caring relationships. Jesus was both a “friend to sinners” and a “friend to His disciples.” Followers of Jesus invest relationally in others having been compelled by Christ’s love for them.  The varying relationships in our lives, brings potential for impact we have as we influence others to follow Jesus!

[1 Thessalonians 2:8]

Intentional Disciple Making:

Jesus poured His life into a few of His followers creating a movement of multiplying disciples/followers of Jesus. Our priority is to follow Him by helping all we know and meet to display the character and priorities of Jesus. As we follow Jesus, we invest in others so they in turn may invest in others! [1 John 2:6]

We recognize that God is for us, but it isn't about us - it's about Him - and we live to make much of Jesus with our whole church body.

[Zephaniah 3:17; Matthew 10:29-31; 2 Corinthians 5:14-15; Ephesians 1:5]

Summit Ridge Church is a church committed to loving Jesus as Lord over every area of our church, families and individual lives.

[Matthew 22:37-38; Ephesians 3:14-21; Philippians 1:6, 9-11]

While growing in fellowship to the Lord and obedience to Him, we value godly sorrow over our sin so that we can walk more closely to Him while listening to the Holy Spirit's promptings.

[Hebrews 13:21; 2 Corinthians 7:9-10]

It is our growth, hunger and thirst for righteousness that makes us distinct from others who do not follow Him.

[Colossians 1:4-6, 9-10, 21-23, 28-29; 2 Corinthians 2:14-16]

It is our commitment to loving Jesus and making much of Him that drives us to love the people of God through the highs and lows of life, encouraging each other toward Jesus through intentional discipleship.

[Romans 15:5-6; 2 Corinthians 1"3-7; John 13:34-35; 1 Corinthians 16:13]

Likewise, our commitment to loving Jesus and making much of Him drives us to seek the welfare of this city in which God has placed us for as long as He has us here. We seek to love, bless, and serve the city and the neighborhoods in which we live.

[Jeremiah 29:5-7; Matthew 22:39]

This is the community of Summit Ridge Church - loving the Lord in every way possible and loving others from that joy found in the Lord.

[Romans 15:13; Hebrews 10:24-25]

Doctrinal Statement

In a culture that has become more and more relative and less concerned about theology, we wanted to clearly articulate what we believe and understand about what God's Word says to us today.

Our statement of faith will help you to better get to know us as a church. The purpose is to help you understand where we are coming from.

May we grow in our deeper understanding of God and not forsake our grounding in God's most wonderful Word.
