Have you been to Discover Summit yet?

Next Sunday afternoon (April 7th) we will be hosting our next Discover Summit at Angela’s and my home. Have you been to one yet? We love these gatherings! Food (my own smoked pulled pork sliders!), fellowship, and being able to talk about what our church is all about! It’s also a time to meet some of the staff and elders as well as others.
 
Our Discover Summit is aimed at helping folks connect with the church and know who we are and what drives and motivates us. It really is a great way to know if Summit Ridge is the right church for you to call home. A church is so much more than just attending on a Sunday and then going home! A church is to be the equipping of the saints (Believers) to love and follow Jesus! We were never intended to live out our Christian life alone!
 
In fact, at our Discover Summit, we introduce a pathway to connect into the important ministries that go on each week. We introduce a way we stay accountable to the Lord and to one another - we do that through what we call “membership”. (Membership is NOTHING like, say, a Costco membership. Church membership simply says, “this is my church home where I am known and know others to encourage each other to know and follow Jesus.”)
 
If you have never been before, here’s what happens at a Discover Summit:

• We begin with lunch together and begin to get to know each other.
• After lunch we gather in our family room and divide our gathering into two parts… the first part is about where we come from and our purpose and missions.
• We take a short break and finish with part 2 where we share details about what we believe and how to engage at Summit
• Overall we offer lots of opportunities to ask questions – there are no off-limit questions!

Finally, this Sunday is certainly a special one for us all. I am really looking forward to opening up God’s Word with you and seeing the absolutely beautiful treasure we have in Jesus and how He fulfills the very vision of Ezekiel’s. This is a great Sunday to invite others to join you for one of our three services (8/9:30/11). We get to worship our King together!
