Sunday worship encourages fully devoted worshippers to proclaim their love to God.
Likewise it allows those with seeking hearts to meet God through our Gospel-centered worship. Musically, we worship instrumentally and vocally in appreciation for both styles that are old and new.
We believe that worship is the activity of glorifying God in His presence with our voices and hearts (Colossians 3:16). It is a direct expression of our ultimate purpose for living, “to glorify God and to fully enjoy him forever.” When we enter into genuine worship for God: We delight in God (Psalm 27:4; 73:25; Luke 24:52-53), God delights in us (Zephaniah 3:17), we draw near to God (Hebrews 4:16), God draws near to us (James 4:8), and God ministers to us (Hebrews 4:16; Ephesians 5:19).
We are always interested in meeting people who would like to be involved with our Worship Band or Production team. Fill out a connection card at one of our services, or better yet, come up and talk to us! We would love to see how God may use you at Summit Ridge as we glorify Him!
The worship music we use at Summit Ridge has several purposes. Foremost, we sing to Glorify the Holy God, Creator, Savior, and King of all things. We also sing to remind ourselves personally of the truths of God's love and redemption in our lives. Songs of hope and joy reinforce us with the truth of who God is when the circumstances of life choke out those feelings within us. Lastly, we sing to encourage and build up those who are around us. For centuries, songs have been used to teach, explain, and remind the church about the truths proclaimed through God's word. These different purposes of worship songs often occur simultaneously and present opportunities for different styles, attitudes, and sounds in worship. A typical Sunday service at Summit Ridge includes 5 or 6 songs. We hope you can join us, catch on to the music quickly, and be encouraged in a church that worships God through song.
