Is God worthy of our worship simply for who He is, apart from His blessings? Job 1 forces us to face the staggering truth that nothing touches our lives apart from the sovereign permission of the Almighty. In the midst of profound pain, we are pointed beyond Job's ash heap to the ultimate innocent sufferer, Jesus Christ, who bore the ultimate curse so that we are never abandoned in our suffering.
