We all carry a subconscious contract in our hearts: If I am good, God will be good to me. It’s a comfortable, civilized view of the universe where predictable moral cause- and-effect rules the day. But what happens when you do everything right, and life goes entirely, devastatingly wrong?

The Book of Job is Scripture’s ultimate "thought experiment," designed to shatter the transactional framework of the prosperity gospel and expose the glitches in our tidy theological systems. Job was blameless, yet in a single day, his wealth, his children, and his health were stripped away, leaving him to scrape oozing sores among the ashes of the city dump. Job's subsequent journey is not an intellectual cosmic algebra equation where we can simply solve for $x$. It is a visceral, raw, and unfiltered protest from the depths of a suffering human heart.

Over 12 weeks, we will step away from the polished, curated messiness of our cultural landscape and enter into the dark night of the soul. We will watch the exhausting debate of Job’s friends collapse under the weight of a bankrupt, rigid retribution theology. We will look honestly at the realities of trauma, grief without a timeline, and the heavy silence of a quiet God. Ultimately, we will scale "Mount Perspective" to confront a Creator whose world is wildly beautiful, dangerous, and completely beyond our capacity to micro-manage.

We may never get the tidy answers to our "why," but we will discover something far deeper: a suffering Savior who doesn't lecture us from a distance, but steps directly into our vulnerability to teach us how to see in the dark.
