The Annual Meeting is coming!

Merry Christmas Church!

This is the big holiday of the year! There are many ways for us to think on Christmas, and there isn’t really one way to do it that is the “right way”. There are some who will be working Christmas, some who have family in town, and some who will be traveling to family and friends out of town. Wherever you find yourself, we all need to trust the Lord for what He has for us in the moment. Let me encourage you to not compare your situation to someone else’s but rather to trust yourself to the Lord who knows your situation and will be with you. Whatever this Christmas has you doing, bring the Lord into it. Talk to Him. Share your heart with Him. Look for a small handful of ways that you can thank Him. There is a lot of pressure we can put on ourselves to have the “best Christmas ever” but if we simply do nothing more or less than what He has for us it’ll take a lot of pressure off.

I do want to share with you a number of updates about things happening over the next few weeks so you are aware.

Saturday is our Christmas Eve Candlelight services. I hope that you can attend one of those this weekend.

Important: You need to know this too, there are no services this Sunday the 25th! As an elder team, we considered our church family and all that goes into serving on Sunday’s and decided to give the volunteers and staff that day off after serving Saturday afternoon/night. It means the worship team doesn’t need to come in at 7 am and be there for the day.

We will have two Celebration services on January 1st (9:30 & 11:00). I am really looking forward to these services! They will be specific times when we give thanks to God for His abundant blessings and to look forward to what He will do in the coming year. I surely hope you can join us for one of those services. If you have children 4 and under attending, we encourage you to register for Summit Kids.

Finally, we have our Annual Church Meeting on Sunday the 8th at 4 pm at church where we will reflect on the past year and look to be grounded in what the Lord has for us as a church into the new year (think: Praying Church). We will also approve the new budget. (Details below.) After our meeting we will share in a big meal too – we have our favorite taco truck coming to enjoy all together. This is going to be good!

I hope you will make it a priority to engage with the church family over the next few weeks. We are loving what God is doing and look forward to walking with Him in the steps ahead.

Words cannot express how much I love you church! I thank God for you and how we are growing toward Him, one step at a time.

In His Grip,

P.S. Don’t forget to pray for the ministries that we are doing outreach with. We are giving to both Straight Ahead ministry as well as Not Forgotten. Two wonderful ministries we count as a privilege to be a part of. If you’d like to give to Not Forgotten and toward the needed transportation for them you can contribute through this link here.
