Pray with Us About Summit Henderson

Today, I wanted to share a new place where God is seemingly at work at Summit.

Over the last few months Angela and I have been getting to know John and Heather Flint. John and Heather live in Henderson – not far from Lake Las Vegas. We originally made a connection through our association (Venture Church Network). John and Heather have had a prayerful dream of planting a Christ-centered, disciple-making, church in Henderson. As we got to know them and their heart for the Lord and desire to come alongside people in Henderson we became more and more excited! As the elders and staff have met with them, and as we put John through the same processes of being a pastor, we clearly see the Lord’s hand upon him/them. And we love the idea of coming alongside them as they plant a church in Henderson.

We are very much in the early stages of this endeavor – there are many questions we don’t have answers to as of yet. That doesn’t stop us from praying and watching how the Lord will put the pieces all together. Will you pray with us?

Here are a few things we know so far:
  • We desire to launch in the Fall of ‘24
  • Beginning in early next year John and Heather will begin to host, “Get to know Summit Henderson” in their home. (More details to come.)
  • We plan on structuring Summit Henderson similarly to Summit Español: It will launch with the support and care of Summit leadership and offer ongoing help in the work of establishing a new church.
  • This is NOT a satellite church. Meaning, it will not have the sermon at Summit broadcast to Summit Henderson. It will have its own preaching each week by John Flint.
  • John Flint will be preaching next week – October 22nd.
  • We are committed to praying and watching how the Lord puts all of the pieces together.

I am eager to continue to watch the story that God is writing in this and the numerous other stories He is writing at Summit. (For instance, a coming announcement of a new associate pastor!) I am truly humbled by His leading us into places we never could have on our own. So, my church, please pray with us. We’ll invite Him to manage us and have His way in our church… and our lives.

Held By His Abundant Grace,

 Pastor John
