Aligning ourselves to His will, His way
It is my hope and prayer that we will grow in prayer both as a church and each of us individually. Prayer is simply talking to God, it is us wanting to align ourselves with His will… with His way. And it is my desire and prayer that we will invite Him into every area of our lives. I know prayer can be mysterious, difficult and at times clunky. I have experienced all of that. But the more I learn about our Lord the more I He draws me in. The more I open up, the more He touches and heals.
We have a new tool to encourage us to pray for one another too. If you are at church this Sunday you will see a new feature in our foyer – a prayer wall. It’s an invitation to pray for one another. It’s simple to participate in. There are two big boards on the wall: One for “Prayer Requests” and one for requests that have been “Prayed Over”. There are blank tags available where you can write out your prayer request and clip it to the “Prayer Request” side of the board. Then someone will take that request home and pray for it, then when they return to church they’ll stick it up on the “Prayed Over” side. It is an opportunity to pray for each other and encourage one another. I am really looking forward to it! So join in with me as we bring each other’s requests to the Lord!
Also here to encourage your prayer life is an article that has impacted me significantly in better understanding Psalm 119 and how to grow in my conversations with the Lord. (I referenced this in the message last week.) I encourage you to read it and take your time through it. I’d love to know your thoughts as well.

May the Lord continue to lead us and draw us to Him. May we humbly come to Him and, like the psalmist of Psalm 119, plea for the Lord to “teach us”.
I love you church and thank God for the privilege to walk with you in life together.
In His Grip,
Pastor John
P.S. – Take a look at the Book Nook and see the number of books available to encourage you to pray! Some great resources! Also, a new book rack that has mini-books available on a host of practical issues to help you in.
